ROLE MODELS

I have a wide selection of Inspirational People on my Facebook bio. (From what I’ve gathered, I’m also one of the few users who actually use this feature on Facebook)

I think ‘Role Model’ is quite a broad term and there would be people on my list which would be influential in some ways, but very bad role models in other ways, which you may think as you read this list.

Audrey Hepburn: to not be afraid to stand up for what you believe in.

2NE1: to be original, versatile and wear cool clothes.

Alexander Lee Eusebio: to give up something you know is wrong, despite the circumstances, for Christ.

Selena Gomez: to be beautiful inside and out, funny and not allow fame or success make you conceited.

Lady Gaga: to work hard and achieve your dreams.

Choi Seung Hyun: to remember although you may be rejected at first, work harder and try again.

Nicki Minaj: to not care about what anyone else thinks.

Josh Peck: to remind me that it doesn't matter what you look like, but health is important.

Jesus Christ: to remind me that I am well and truly loved: by dying on the cross, and through answered prayer, meeting my needs, listening when I feel broken and blessing me in a million wonderful ways to give me a wonderful and fulfilling life on earth.

Heroines

So this post is going to be about women, who inspire me in one way or another. Enjoy.

Jaamela Jamil

I see this woman in Look Magazine all the time, and not only do I applaud her for her amazing fashion sense, she’s absolutely stunning! If I was a size 6/8 I would LOVE to look like her- her eyes are so beautiful! *Aims to look as pretty as her*

Selena Gormez

For some reason. I adore this girl. I’ve watched her on “Wizards of Waverly Place’ (yeah, I know) a few times and think she’s as cool as a cucumber. Her bold and brash nature is brilliant in that show, she is a talented actress. And she’s dated Taylor Lautner, lucky girl!

Lady Gaga

Honestly, where do I start? Probably the most amazing woman in the world, no, the universe!

Not only an inspiration to me to be individual, but so many others too. It’s difficult to describe how great she actually is because she’s too amazing to describe.

Her style: Unreal. Seriously. Despite having a figure to die for, Gaga goes beyond all limits in the fashion world. She wears outfits that other normal pop stars wouldn’t dare to wear, and that originality is copied by fans all over the globe.

It’s said that she’ll be remembered for her fashion more than her music: this I don’t totally agree on because they are both equally phenomenal.

And the best bit is she IS talented, no matter what critics or haters say. Trust me, I saw her live, she is an ARTIST.

Love her or hate her, this lady is going to be around for a very long time.

Audrey Hepburn

The most beautiful lady ever. ever EVER. This awe I’m feeling over my heroines is very difficult to explain! I think Audrey is the definition of a perfect woman: she’s beautiful, cultured, elegant and ever so stylish. Through her life these qualities never faded, they matured with age. Audrey showed the world that you can still be perfect and work hard.

And even though she’s not with us, she’s still in our hearts today.

Paloma Faith

I more than likely have never announced this to anyone before, but I really like the singer Palmona Faith. Her style is so quirky and her voice is stunning.

Emma Watson

If you have been living in a bucket this last nine years, Emma Watson is the girl who plays Hermione in the Harry Potter films. Only after recently rewatching the films did I realise how amazing this girl can act. Lately she’s been in the papers publicizing Deathly Hallows (Which I still haven’t seen, drat) sporting a new hair-do. My own opinion: I usually loathe boy cuts on girls, but Emma Watson can work it! She looks even more glamourous than before. Miss Watson is on this list for being a super role-model and fashionista for ladies everywhere in 2010.

Sunny from SNSD

No idea why, but Sunny is my favourite in Girls Generation. She’s looked at as one of the least pretty members so I look up to her for ignoring all the haters. She’s so cute and naturally looks adorable. If I looked Asian, I’d so want to look like her!

Hacker Girl

Oh my goodness, where do I start! Well firstly, Yang Mi Jung is a character in my Korean Drama IRIS, which I have spoke about before, so I won’t bore you to tears again about it. We affectionately called her Hacker Girl, because she is a wizz-kid at hacking into CCTVs, programs...basically anything and everything. So that skill amazes me, because she’s so intelligent and is a master of computing- something I’ve always wished I could do!

In the show, she’s so funny. She’s got brilliant lines and her and 70s Guy (Hyang Tae Sung: he looks like he’s been imported from the 70s) made a superb team at the NSS!

Hacker Girl’s style is amazing! She wears the rarest clothes! Which I love because she’s being so unique. She’s very distinct looking but so gorgeous.

And then, she gets better still. She dates T.O.P (Assassin Vick). It’s only later in the episodes do we begin to see their relationship. It’s so sweet: she’s completely fallen for him! I don’t want to give too much away, because Emma’s likely to read this and she still has to watch it...

Marlene Freimanis

I have used Marlene four times as my artist in my school artwork. Honestly, she is the best artist I have ever come across, and she isn’t even that well known. I found her on DeviantArt, where she is active at posting her pieces for seven years now. She’s a bit like myself: she goes through obsessions focusing on different things, but unlike me, posts AMAZING pieces of art relating to it. She is interested in macabre, zombies and gory, gothic things, as well as a fanatic Gaga monster. Lately she’s been into Florence and the Machine (No way as good as Gaga, I gotta admit) When I get my own house, I want to order a print of hers to hang up on my wall.

If I had 100th of her skill I would be delighted.

Christina Hendricks

Christina Hendricks is known for playing a part in a show called Mad Men: I’ve never watched it, but you see this lady all the time in the newspaper and magazines.

She’s been in the media so often because of her incredible curves and bust size. This year she’s been voted Sexiest Woman Alive.

I love this woman because even she, like myself, is a size 14, and struggles to find designer clothes that fit that body shape properly. She won’t alter her size for designer clothes or conform to other Hollywood size 0 bodies either. People online have sneered and criticised her for not doing this.

Well girl, you’re a true beauty, so don’t worry what they say!

Hello! I am postponing my Gaga post yet again because I want some of the photos Kerri took before I publish it. So it says on my to-do list “Blog something” which technically, I did do last night, but I may have caught the blogging-bug again so I will write another entry when I’m in the mood!

Okay, last week, which was an absolutely amazing week for me, was enhanced by receiving two, TWO! items in the post. I would be lucky to get one letter a month, never mind any packages! So the first thing that arrived was 4 posters from HMV Pure. If you haven’t heard it, it’s the HMV store’s rewards scheme: you save up your points you get from purchasing something in the shop. When you finally save up enough, go onto their online store and choose a gift for yourself. These products are absolutely amazing, like you can get signed guitars, concert & movie premiere tickets and props from movie sets- but you need a lot more points for that! I have been collecting for about a year and last week skimmed through the site to see if there was anything worth spending points on.

I chose a Emma Watson poster, Wizard of Oz and two Gaga ones. All were reasonably cheap, I picked Wizard of Oz because it was rather pretty, not that I particularly like that film.

However, when they arrived on Tuesday they were packed in a massive flatpack box! (Free packaging by the way!) The Wizard of Oz one was MASSIVE! It was one that would have been hung in the HMV shop. The two Gaga ones came in rolls and Emma Watson was A3 size. They all look so good!

To add to the excitement, I got more post on Wednesday. I and ordered Snapfish photos because I had 100 free prints, many thanks to O2 Surprises. So I spent Wednesday evening sticking them all up round my room. These prints are another one of my many obsessions.

11. A DECEASED PERSON YOU WISH YOU COULD TALK TO

Dear Audrey Hepburn,

I wasn’t sure who to write this one to, because I don’t have any relatives that have died that I knew personally.

Anyway, I want to write a quick letter to you to show my appreciation of your outstanding contribution to film and more importantly, to style. You have influenced me to create my own unique taste in fashion. Your sophistication is a look that has been copied so many times, yet no-one could do it as well as the original. So so beautiful!

Your gleaming hair, prominent cheek-bones when you smiled that famous smile, your stunning eyes and dazzling dresses: you definitely were the most gorgeous woman ever.

Your delightful charm and manners are marvelous. Even in films your acting and poise were perfection. Not once did you do anything ridiculous that landed you in the papers for the wrong reasons. Such a role-model!

Even as you got older, you were so lovely. Even if your skin had matured, your tranquil and refined personality shone through. From looking at photos, you still looked wonderful for your age. I sometimes wish I was alive when you were, but you were gone before I was even born.

Grateful for your fortune, you helped the needs of others, becoming a goodwill ambassador to the United Nations Children’s Fund. Right through your life, your aim was to help others. For someone so famous, you knew what was important. You are what it is to be a celebrity, if only today people were as selfless.

On 20th January 1993, surgeons unable to prevent the spread of abdominal cancer, you passed aged 63. Even though I didn’t even know you, I feel heartbroken that such an admirable woman’s life would be taken away so quickly. Sometimes I tell myself that you’re still alive, because my mind can’t grasp the fact that such an iconic human-being could slip away to something as foul as cancer. It just doesn’t seem fair.

I can’t fit everything in about your life, I wish I could, but there would be too much to write! Your attitude towards everything on this earth was so simple: you didn’t care about clothes, you never considered yourself to be very attractive, your main priority was your family and others. Ms Hepburn, you are what it was to be a beautiful woman, and you are still so relevant today.

Your overwhelming good-nature, patience, grace and style: it’s what every girl dreams to be!

You will never be forgotten.

CONTAINER

Hello again,
I guess today at school was a lot better than yesterday. But, I'm still discontented with stuff.
Thankfully, the day flew by, and when I got home I drew Super Junior for a few hours in the container. Note: a green shipping container all kitted out inside with my cool stuff that there isn't room for in the house. It's also a great escape from chores in the house and to have more me time. It’s MINE and I love it. :)

I can't wait for Christmas!! I'm getting a Macbook, and I'm majorly excited about everything to do with it: setting it up with my iPhone, trying out the photoshop/video making software and, of course, naming it!! I think it will be called Mac-Original. Unless I think of something better. (unlikely.)

I got my school mid-term report today. All ones from my subjects EXCEPT for art, which I got twos in! Not impressed! Our art teacher was just being mean. I work super hard that subject. >=(
