1. BEST FRIEND

I was given this idea from this crazy yet totally cool E.L.F on Livejournal. Some of mine will possibly be shorter so I might put a few letters in the same post. :)

Dear Best Friend, THANK YOU for being you. Without you in my life I would be an insecure and uninteresting person. Honestly, even though we are completely different in some ways we are so so alike! I don’t think I would be my usual, crazy, obsessive self without your influence. I love when we exchange glances over something really ridiculous that we both relate to in class.

But that’s what makes your company so much fun. I dread the day that we will break for university, but do you promise we will meet up?! No really, we NEED TO. I need to see if we will remember all of Super Juniors’ names in a few years. :) Don’t you be away galavanting the world and forget your old Claud! You be expecting a stupid text someday along the lines of “Toby eats seatbelts” “I will nuke your cat” or even “Kyuhyun’s out of the army!!” teehee.

Even though sometimes I don’t understand your elaborate speech you have always helped me along in school work, which I do believe made me work harder academically. (In other words, I copied your work.) I also want to thank you for dealing with me right through school. Can’t say you were my favourite person back in junior school, but now I’ve learnt how to appreciate your friendship. Actually, I don’t know how you stuck me! I was horrible in 3rd year.

I remember the day we had to sat beside each other on the first day in first year. (Due to Mrs Fry’s mistake of forgetting to give Laura a seat, so she placed her beside Tina instead) You had a funny purple bootleg pencil case, and mine was a Hedgehog. I remember you drew a bell and Rachel Haugh painted her nails with tip-exx. That’s all I remember. Seriously, what did we talk about back then!?!

Someday we will go to Seoul. I’ll even allow you to shake my Hyukjae’s hand. (If I don’t suffocate him first that is) Looking back at all our good times, I can’t think of any wasted or regretful moments, (Asian Magician just popped into my head as I typed this?) And I hope there won’t ever be any in the future! You will never understand what powder is, and I won’t understand how Hangeng used to be your favorite, and we both will NEVER understand how Daesung is able see through those tiny eyes, but anyway you are the coolest person ever.

HONESTY

Okay, the whole point of this blog is writing what you really think of a certain person. You can say whatever on earth you want to and they won't know. Each number is a different person.

Person 1.) You are so cool. You know everything about me and the way my mind works. I don't know what I would do without you and we share everything with each other. However, I notice you are very distant recently.. are you OK? I wish you were back to normal and everything will be fun and normal again.

Person 2.) Why have you abandoned me?? We used to be such good friends and now you totally ignore me at every possible moment I try to talk. I thought you were quite cool and respected you for who you are. I've given up now. All you think about is yourself-You are a lazy slob... I still miss you though.

Person 3.) Let's add to my anger here for person number 3. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU. You have changed so much in the two years that I have known you. You used to be so nice and so sweet. Now you hang around with them awful people and you really get on my nerves. Catch yourself on.

Person 4.) I think I'm getting on with you better now-a-days. For a while I really hated you, I know that's harsh. But you got on my nerves so much. Especially last year. But this year things are gonna get better.

Person 5.) Strangely enough, number 5 and I get on great. I never thought I'd be friends with you, you seem too "cool." You are great craic and so so fashionable, I am jealous of your amount of clothes. And you're so funny, you are class. BUT you never listen to anything and you are so unorganised!! You have great ideas but never get round to doing them, which is a shame. I sometimes carry them out instead, but anything I do, you can do better. Which can be a bit sickening sometimes.

Person 6.) HA you make me laugh so much. You have a wicked sense of humour and I think you have more common sense than I do. I feel blessed having you as my brother and as my friend.

Person 7.) Hey, you are so nice. Like, you have changed so much since September and since then we get on so well. You are so lovely. You always smile at me in school and always make an effort in talking to me even though somedays I feel like crap. I love how calm and quiet your nature is. You are really great with kids too.

Person 8.) Why don't we talk anymore? I'm sorry I have been so busy with school and stuff. But to be honest, you are too obsessed with your boyfriend to have time with anyone.

Person 9.) Wowee you are so sweet and kind! You are a darling. You are afraid to offend anyone and you are so so polite. I love how we are becoming more friendly again! Just like old times!

Person 10.) You look at me in school all funny. It's scaring me a bit. You never used to talk to me and suddenly you do. It's odd.

SUNSCREEN

Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ’99...
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it.
The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience…I will dispense this advice now.
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded.
But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how
fabulous you really looked….You’re not as fat as you imagine.
Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.
The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.
Do one thing everyday that scares you.
Sing.
Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours.
Floss.
Don’t waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind…the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with yourself.
Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you succeed in doing this, tell me how.
Keep your old love letters, throw away your old bank statements.
Stretch.
Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your life…the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year olds I know still don’t.
Get plenty of calcium.
Be kind to your knees, you’ll miss them when they’re gone.
Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll have children, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll divorce at 40, maybe you’ll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary…what ever you do, don’t congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either – your choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s.
Enjoy your body, use it every way you can…don’t be afraid of it, or what other people think of it, it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever own.
Dance. even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room.
Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them.
Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.
Get to know your parents, you never know when they’ll be gone for good.
Be nice to your siblings; they are the best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future. Understand that friends come and go,but for the precious few you should hold on.
Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you
knew when you were young.
Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard; live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.
Travel.
Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will philander, you too will get old, and when you do you’ll fantasize that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders. Respect your elders.
Don’t expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you have a wealthy spouse; but you never know when either one might run out.
Don’t mess too much with your hair, or by the time you're 40, it will look 85.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it.
Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.
But trust me on the sunscreen…
