CONTROVERSIAL #2

A book you’ve read that changed your views on something:
To be honest I don’t read that much, but the last book which really made me think was called “I Kissed Dating Goodbye” by Joshua Harris. Amy lent me it after a few interesting conversations about Christian dating last summer. Although I felt some of the things in the book was a bit... extreme, Harris presented some excellent points which challenged me. I felt that this book changed my outlook on dating and the way I looked at guys - and trust me, that’s a thing I’ve struggled with for a long time. It also reassured me that it was okay to be single (a typical concern of many young female adults!) Ladies, maybe if you’re having similar concerns as me, have a look at this.

Your views on gay marriage:
I’ve been staring at this question since I started this meme and was wondering was it a mistake that I didn’t delete it when I had the chance to. Honestly I still don’t know how to answer this. The whole topic of homosexuality and homophobia is a heated debate right now in the world and I can honestly say I don’t really have an opinion, not a valid one anyway. I’m a Christian, which evidently throws me to one side of the debate, but i’ll just try and clear up what I want to say and be done with the subject forever.

Christians: I understand why many Christians are upset and disagree with homosexuality, never-mind gay marriage. Personally, I find it extremely disturbing how quickly the world is adjusting and accepting to this. It’s one of many signs of the end of the world. People don’t fear God anymore, which is frightening and tragic too. I also think it’s okay that some Christians feel strongly want to speak out and express their beliefs. It’s what they believe - free speech, eh? However I also feel some so called ‘Christians’ are expressing views, which are NOT Christ-like - setting a bad reputation for other Christians and making us all look crazy. We aren't all irritating bigots, I hope.

Gay Support: What pisses me off is how Christians (regular ones... not extreme, mad ones) are more commonly being mocked and ridiculed for standing up for what they believe in. (Another sign of the end times, by the way.) You support gay rights? Fine! There’s no need to criticise those who don’t. You don’t? Fair enough. Less of the population have a religious or spiritual basis so they are not bound by religious rules. Therefore it’s their personal choice to support gay rights or not. So I understand why many people are enthusiastic to support it - they see no wrong in it. One thing I do not like is how during debates on this topic, usually online, secularists twist random Bible verses such as this. Completely taking it out of context, probably with little understanding or research on the verses at all - making a JOKE out of the word of God! This offends me and tires my weary brain. How difficult it is to LOVE people like this! Actually makes me want to cry: in sadness and frustration. This is why I hate this debate so much.

Homosexuality: I think being gay is a sin. That is why so many people, religious folk in particular, are against it. I disagree with it because God hates sin. But! Gay people/supporters, don’t feel that homosexuality is the worst sin. (which it is made out to be most of the time) All sin is equal in God’s eyes. If I dated a non-Christian - that would be just as equal of a sin as if I dated a woman. If a man committed a murder, it would be no worse if a man kissed another man. Then again, why would these secular people care what God thinks anyway? I'm fully aware of the reasons and don't want to be ignorant of what I'm trying to talk about. And another thing, God DOES NOT hate gay people - I can't stand it when people mouth off that he does - he loves us all, no matter what. I don't hate gay people either. I know a few gays from school/uni and they some of the most lovely, friendly and hilarious people I've ever met! There's one in particular I would be lost without - I don't love him any less for what he is, I actually have more respect for him for keeping me in his life.

Gay Marriage: I disagree with homosexuality so therefore I disagree with gay marriage too. God makes it clear it’s man and woman were meant to be together. Typical response expected -  I don’t intend to start an argument, because as much as the whole thing distresses me, I don’t see the point in fighting with everyone about it. Again - if there's no belief in God in their lives, I don't understand why people wouldn't be campaigning for the legalisation of gay marriage. Same with mixed-race marriage, I guess - it's now widely accepted after many years of individuals being discriminated against.
The definition of love has been warped and altered so much, I can imagine there are many, many people in the world who don’t understand what Love truly is. For me, this song by Jaeson Ma hits the nail on the head - even Bruno Mars sings in it too!

Conclusion of mini-rant: I believe the acceptance of homosexuality and gay marriage is just another win for secularism and Satan - this makes me sad. I do not share the same views as many others but that doesn't mean I despise them for it. I don’t think being gay is worse than anything else, but it scares me what the future generations will soon find acceptance in, and what God thinks of it all.

What if you were pregnant or got someone pregnant, what would you do?
I know I shouldn’t be laughing at this but LOL. I seriously hope I won’t up pregnant, until the time is right anyway. I really wouldn’t like to think of the consequences if I ended up pregnant today...I’d be pretty embarrassed to be honest.

Have you ever thought about giving up on life? If so, when and why?
To be quite honest, yes I have. Y’know in your teenage years where it’s cool to be all emo and melancholy. Like it was more like, "eugh I wanna kill myself life sucks what's the point in all this crap" Not that I would have done anything, definitely not! Personally I think it’s a very selfish choice for anyone to commit suicide - don’t they think of those who have been left behind? Coping with death is a horrible, horrible experience - thankfully the three funerals I have been to were not intentional deaths - a car accident, cancer sufferer and old age. I couldn’t possibly get my head around someone PURPOSIVELY ending their life. But I guess there are some reasons that are harder to understand? Anybody reading this - I pray you’ll not attempt such a thing - yes life can be difficult, we make mistakes and sometimes it just feels like things keep getting worse - but there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel.

What is the hardest thing you have ever experienced?
Jordan’s death - nothing is quite like the pain of accepting that someone who is the same age as you is now buried in the ground, someone who you’ll never see again on this earth, someone who you’ve spent 7 years together in school with you won’t speak to again, someone who was one of your best friends. Everything became different after the accident - our whole friendship group changed dramatically. I found that very difficult to come to terms with too.

What popular notion do you think the world has most wrong?
Many, many fashion trends - the one I will point out today is leggings being worn as trousers - weird, saggy bum! And often a pants line too, not good ladies, doesn't matter how comfortable it is - sort your wardrobe out.

MUSIC

Make a playlist to someone, and explain why you chose all the songs.

Okay so this playlist is for everyone who reads it - and the list explains how some songs put me in certain moods...yeah.
May I point out before you begin reading this was the most difficult list I’ve ever created! And even now that it’s finished I still feel so many more songs could and should be included. Sigh!

Mood: Happy
Shampoo - After School
Still not sure why I like this song so much - perhaps it’s meant to be a sad song, who knows! After 90 listens I’m still liking it and it just makes me happy. The piano introduction is just gorgeous.

Mood: Content
Everything is Alright - Motion City Soundtrack
This song is an old favourite of mine, it’s just so lovely. Tell me that you’re alright, yeah everything is alright. It just reassures me that, yes, everything is okay.

Mood: Peaceful
Starlight - Muse
Ah Muse! The whole ‘Black Holes and Revelations’ album is a work of art, but Starlight has always been my favourite. It’s just so beautiful, Matt Bellamy’s voice is stunning. I even recall wanting this song played at either my wedding or funeral, now I think of it...I’m glad I never told anyone that.

Mood: Carefree
Hey-Ya - Outcast
Super tune here - When this song comes on there’s nothing you can do except dance. And y’all know I don’t dance, but woah this is such a song.

Mood: Enthusiastic
모르니 - 2PM
Nothing gets my groove on more than listening to some sexy 2pm before doing some work. There’s something about this track that just does it for me, and helps me start working! Bam!

Mood: Nostalgic
S-Club Party - S Club 7
Out of all the 90s songs, this one by S-Club 7 is still my favourite. I was a massive S-Clubber back in the day and it’s this song that’s my beat. There ain’t no party like an S-Club party!

Mood: Cheerful
Goofy Movie - Stand Out
It was only this year did I FINALLY find another Goofy Movie fan - Bronagh from my class at university also loves this tune and surprisingly is one of my favourite films. This song brings back many memories as a 10 year old girl who’s idol was Max Goof.

Mood: Good
Dancing In The Moonlight - Toploader
This song makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside - another one I remember prominently being played when I was growing up in advertisements and T.V shows.

Mood: Calm
The Saltwater Room - Owl City
Personally this is my favourite Owl City song. Like most of his songs, the lyrics are beautiful and I just feel so calm. “So tell me darling, do you wish we’d fall in love?”

Mood: Insecure
Ugly - 2NE1
Boo, even I, have off-days. I feel like crap and I just hate the world. Ugly by my girls 2NE1 make me feel a bit better because this song makes me not as feel as bad. “I think I’m ugly and nobody wants to love me” makes me feel more secure, because, c’mon, that’s a bit harsh ladies. I LOVE 2NE1 and think they are pretty. They make me feel better.

Mood: Sad
In Heaven - JYJ
I listened to this song on repeat after Jordan’s death back in September. Such a powerful song from the beautiful voices of Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu. It actually has made me burst into tears before because it’s so powerful. It’s weird what music can do. (Even if you don’t know what they are saying)

Mood: Romantic
Here (In Your Arms) - Hellogoodbye
This song reminds me back in the day when life was so much simple. It helped me believe in love - like silly love, teenager love. Love that isn’t genuine, but love gives you that funny feeling inside. Like when you have a crush on someone and it gives you flutters when you see them. I feel like a young teenager listening to this!

Mood: Upset
Haru Haru - BIGBANG
Oh boy oh boy this song actually breaks my heart. Definitely one of BIGBANG’s greatest. I cried after watching the music video - like, properly bawled. It makes me so sad because of the meaning behind it - it’s about saying goodbyes, even if you don’t want to. It’s just flawless.

Mood: Aggravated/Irratated
Taste of Ink - The Used
Nothing stirs me up more like listening to a little bit of The Used - another favourite group I had back in my younger days. This song is a classic.

Mood: Weak
Roses - The Rocket Summer
Naomi kindly introduced me to the Rocket Summer a couple of years ago, and it was only quite recently did I learn they were a Christian rock group. Roses is a powerful song which is such an encouragement when I feel like giving up. It provides me the kick I need to just keep holding on, even though it can be difficult. “Keep holding on, all I got is holding onto these roses, the thorns will keep on digging, but my soul believes.” Amazing!

Mood: Sleepy
Baby Goodnight - GD & TOP
I sometimes listen to this when I’m getting ready to go to bed. It’s very relaxing when I'm ready to sleep.

Mood: Depressed
Take Me Away - U-KISS
Sometimes it all just feels to be too much to deal with and I just want to run away. U-KISS’ voices are so divine in this track it gives me goosebumps.

Mood: Tired
Did You or Did You Not? - Block B
Sometimes I’m just sick of listening to people complain about their crap and I just want to be left alone. “This is why I’m serious, baby I’m so tired.”

Mood: Angry
Wolf In Sheep Clothing - This Providence
Man I love this track so much, an old favourite.

Mood: Melancholy
It’s Not Over - Secondhand Serenade
Although this song doesn’t have any direct impact on my own relationships with person/people, I think it’s a breathtaking song and makes me feel all emotional. He has a beautiful voice and the lyrics are amazing.

REVENGE!

Time get my revenge from one of my friends who have publicly disgraced my blog!

Let it begin.

Since I have completed the Best Fashion Blog Post, I found it necessary to create a Worst Fashion one too.

Kitchen Sink Drama

Oh dear, what’s going on here? Is he posing in a kitchen? Not a good start. I think this guy is called James, yeah, he’s definitely not Korean. (Even Koreans don’t look this bad) It appears to be that he is looking at something on the roof, perhaps his fashion taste flying away...And what’s that mush on the tray? It looks like sick.

Anyway, purple jumper- not bad indeed. I do like purple and it goes well with his ginger hair. The jeans look good too.

Crazy Purple Person

OH DEAR what has happened? Whoever styled this should be shot! Dyed grey hair is NOT a good look and the makeup is atrocious. He looks like a drag queen/prostitute gone wrong. Personally, I think the top looks lumpy but I do like the thumb hole in the top. From the waist down is just vile. Underwear as outerwear is not a good look.

Gaga Glasses?

EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS IS A NO. To simply COMPARE this eyewear to the almighty Gaga is insulting. These glasses do nothing to compliment his face and are nothing like anything Lady Gaga would wear. He is wearing the purple again...is this the only top he owns?

The Stalker Pose

This. Is. Terrifying. The checked shirt does not match the tee underneath. The necklace does not go with this outfit at all. He looks like a trampy boy going on a drinking binge that unfortunately was genetically fused to a purple ape or else has a rare genetic condition wherein he must where completely out of place things or else he will die.

To conclude...
CL is HOLDING a dress because she is promoting a fashion line, it is not the train of the dress she is wearing.

AND Did you just call T.O.P gangly and awkward? That’s too far James, too far. He will kill you. I will kill you.

I will let the rest of this slander of the ClaudBlog go. You complimented Minzy, Jaejoong and Ryeowook’s outfits so that pleases me.

However, for insulting my two favourites, you will pay.

E is for...

Emma

I questioned Emma in school today about this meme because I was struggling to think of words for some of the letters. So I gave her the letter E, and she replied “Obviously, write about me!” So here it goes Emma...

So I’ve known Emma Hanna since 1st year, maybe a little bit before. We knew through her teacher mum and my teacher aunt working together yadadada. So here is a timeline of our friendship.

1st Year Claudia: A complete loser. I’m so glad I didn’t know her, because if Present Me went back to 2003 she would beat the crap out of her and Present Me would cease to exist.

1st year Emma: Also a loser. Known as Mrs Hanna’s daughter, and the smartest girl in the year who read the dictionary.

Conclusion: We had each other: losers together. Fairly happy in our loser bubble.

2nd Year Claudia: Blonde. BLONDE. Why did I dye my hair blonde?? Anyway, 2NDY ‘Claudz’ wasn’t much cooler but at least it wasn’t first year.

2nd Year Emma: I don’t really remember Emma? We all hung out with Rachel, Tina and Laura so I think I paid attention to them more.. or maybe Emma was very quiet.

Conclusion: Not very close to be honest.

3rd Year Claudia: Go DIE. DIE. DIE. DIE. I hate hate hate 3rdYearClaudia. Big EMO. When I see Emos in our school/everywhere else I want to smack their face off and tell them to stop wasting their time being depressed and go and listen to some good music that doesn’t tell you to kill yourself.....Thankfully I have matured.

Any benefits of this year? Well I think being like this for a year built up my character which you see today: I’m still mean. >:)

3rd Year Emma: I think I bullied Emma in 3rd year because I hated everything. Sorry bbz. Thanks for sticking with me through that horrendous time of my life.

Conclusion: The past stays in the past. Just don’t bring it up again ever. “You can’t repeat the past? Of course you can!” -

JAY, I REALLY DON’T WANT THAT PAST REPEATED. ☹

4th Year Claudia: I went past the immaturity and started to go out places. I also cut my hair into a bob. (Note to self, don’t ever ever do that again: it’s hell to grow out)

4th Year Emma: We were friends. We drifted away from Rach etc and started hanging out with Jordan, Kerri etc.

Conclusion: Things got better.

5th Year Claudia: Ah! My JoBros Year!

5th Year Emma: I remember Emma liked Narnia and Transformers.

Conclusion: We were very good friends again. Even if we had little in common.

L6th Claudia: Hehe! The year I started my ‘obsession’ with Asian guys! I found Super Junior on Youtube, and it went on from there. I also put on a lot of weight. Boo! And school was really getting me down from the workload and I didn’t go out much.

L6th Emma: Emma also joined in on the Suju obsession and it was surely the best craic! Haha, Emma's favourite was Hankyung! (Still makes me laugh for no apparent reason) We had FunFridays at Emma’s house and it was the highlight of my week.

Conclusion: We learnt Suju’s names and some Korean too, this language practiced on a real Korean guy in London! Amazing.

U6th Claudia: Ah! Last year of school!! I lost a lot of weight and think I gained more confidence. So far, I’ve been so busy going places and taking part in different activities as well as juggling schoolwork and a social life. And I still like K-Pop but I’m not as addicted as last year. S’all good!

U6th Emma: Don’t know how Emma does it, but she’s doing 4 A-Levels and soldiering along well. We don’t talk about K-pop as much, and we haven’t had a FunFriday since September! We still talk away though!

Conclusion: All is well!

Yup, I think that’s it. There is probably so much more that could be included here but my brain is going as mushy as the snow tonight!

Happy Snow Day everyone!

Lots of Love, from your favourite blogger,

Claudia

SLEEP

Hi again, I don't want to sleep just yet. Turns out I'm going tomorrow out for Sunday Lunch, on account of Uncle Gordon being here and to give Mar a break from cooking. By the end of this year I'll be a fat mess. Bleh! Well all next week I'm free, and Mum is feeling a lot better, so hopefully I will get to the gym.
I found my old blog there, didn't take me long really, just typing a few words into Google does the trick. It is absolutely depressing. What was wrong with me? I know I was younger, but I sound so emo. I must have been hard to listen to, how did I have any friends?? It makes me feel quite nauseous. I would delete it, except I can't get logged in because of email problems.
Recently I was looking at my Wii Fit statistics, since this time last year, I've managed to put on another stone! Aragh, I am so cross at myself. I need to construct a plan for next year, of all the things I must accomplish! *adds to to-do list*
