DIGITAL IMAGING

Well lads,
Feels like a long time since I’ve been blogging properly. I’ve done a couple of memes but most of them were written a couple of weeks before posted because I knew I was going to be so busy.
However I am now FREE from the clutches of Digital Imaging coursework (but shall return to it with open arms in February.)
I must admit I thoroughly enjoyed working on this piece of coursework - it mirrors how Art is, except BETTER- research, experiment and final piece - except this time the final piece is not a painting or sculpture, but a photoshop piece.

Claudia + Art + Computers = ♥ LOVE

If that wasn’t fun enough for silly old me, we also were able to make a book!! Those who can recall my psychotic takeover on producing the Upper 6th Yearbook can imagine a similar behaviour which occurred for this project.
We used a company called Blurb to publish our book and mine should arrive in the post on the 5th January.
I’m very pleased with the way mine has turned out - and although my class mates are cursing under their breath as they continue to work on theirs - I am now free to enjoy my Christmas holidays!

Above is a .jpeg of the cover - and below is an embedded link if you would like to read or look at it.

Merry Christmas everyone! I shall update with my goodies next week.

PHOTO POST (2) ...

The fun continues...

Top 5 Fictional Character Crushes (or 6..whatever..):
Barney Stinson - How I Met Your Mother
 The Doctor - Doctor Who
Captain Jack Sparrow - Pirates of the Caribbean
Gu Jun Pyo - Boys Over Flowers
 Ron Weasley - Harry Potter
 Severus Snape - Harry Potter
Extrovert or Introvert:
Introvert - I like spending time by myself doing my own weird things.

Although I do occasionally like being sociable, but I suppose it depends who I’m going to be with.
One thing you want right now:
Unff.
Where you’re from:

lol

One thing you hate about yourself:
My bad posture - which I don't realise I have until I see my reflection or a photograph taken.
Often James points it out and tells me to sit up straight. This is annoying but necessary.

A series you wish would continue:
Hello Baby! It's basically SHINee looking after a wee toddler for a few weeks. It's dead cute, I love it and don't want it to end.

Screenshot of Desktop:
It's really messy because I'm working on the other bits of this blog post so there's random images saved..that I might not even use.

Favourite flavour of Ice Cream:
Nutella Bear - has anyone ever tried it? It’s amazing!

A hobby you’d die without:
K-Pop.

A trend you hate
Ugg Boots. BOKE.

ROOM

It’s funny, I’ve been at university for a month and I haven’t blogged about it yet. Anyway, I took some pictures of my room just to give you an idea of where I'm living, since it's unlikely my friends will want to stay over up here - there's very little to do. I completely adore it though, and it's probably a blessing there's no shops within walking distance or else I would be completely broke.

Yes, this is my bed. I love my duvet, got it in Dunnes Stores. Also have my Andy Warhol cushions here too, making it as homely as possible. I wish I brought Flat Eric with me because I miss his smiling face.

Woo work area. I don't think you're allowed to put pictures or posters up on the wall incase it chips the paint, but I done so anyway because you all know I can't stand looking at bare walls. The Camp America wall planner came in our welcome pack and it's very very handy.

A small selection of my many Snapfish photos I ordered in early September! It was difficult picking a selection which are my favourites but also don't make me look like a weirdo if anyone is ever in my room visiting.
Incredibly poor selection of DVDs up with me but I don't have any good ones at home either so I took ones I knew I would watch sometime on my own. Completely HOOKED on the Doctor Who series at the minute. It's so so GOOD! I don't know what I'm going to watch when I finish watching it all. Can't view any dramas down here because the internet is incredibly slow and dislikes buffering videos.

I bought this little guy at a fair in Belfast and I never have seen anything like it since. Think it's meant to be some kinda Japanese or Chinese dog? I never named him because I could never think of a one good enough, anyway he makes a cute decoration.

This is my timetable! The highlighted blocks anyway. I'm very impressed with it - late starts on Monday, finish early on Fridays and off Wednesdays. It suits me perfectly. And it's screanings AKA film night every Monday which is just awesome. My favourite class is Digital Imaging - where I'm FINALLY being taught how to use Adobe. I LOVE it :)

Look! I bought this at the poster sale last week. It's so pretty and printed on amazing quality of paper. And it was 3 posters for £10, I'll show you the other two in a minute. Again, this probably shouldn't be up on the wall but I hope I shall get away with it.

This is the view out of my window. The place where I live is called Cranagh Village. I live in the top floor which means I can SPY on people!! Or.. people watch would be a better way of putting it. There's always a lot of activity round here, although on Wednesday nights I can hear everything that's going on outside, which is annoying.

Another view of Cranagh.

My wardrobe - pitiful because I like hanging all my clothes up and that is difficult to do because it's rather small. I also bought a Bruce Lee poster - I might give this to Jared for his birthday but I haven't decided yet.

Third and last poster - Japan - I think Hazel has this too? Anyway I thought it was very pretty. It might have to be moved though because inside the bathroom door is not a wise place to put stuff up. :/

TEE TIME

Hello!

I have finally ordered my K Beanies hat. It’s a website that allows you to design your own wooly hat. I was given a £25 gift voucher from my cousin Gregor over Christmas to order my own and believe it or not, I could not decide on a design. I wanted it to be unique and different but it was just too hard to decide!

Due to it getting warmer every day, I was beginning to panic because by the time I would have ordered it would be too warm and wearing a wooly hat in the summer just looks silly!

So yes, it is ordered. The woman knits them herself, quite a talent I say, so I will post pictures when it arrives in a few weeks, D.V.

Spreadsheet.com

Another thing, why hasn’t anyone ever told me about spreadsheet.com? It’s dead cool, you can buy designed t-shirts made by random people online. I’ve been looking at them for about an hour now and have devised a wishlist.

2NE1 Phone

G-Dragon/Taemin top- the original of this cost like £500!

Good old Harry Potter, was rather disappointed by the lack of HP tees on the website.

Only I would even think of getting this tee, and it looks so cool, haha I love it!

More Potter power, this time in the form of a hoodie. Genius.

Oh wait.. “Delivery is available to the United States and Canada.”

Crap! I was on the worldwide site! The U.K website has none of these cool tees! United Kingdom, you suck so much.

Y’know, I could do this! I could make t-shirts! For the U.K! I’d make a fortune. Yes, it’s another money making scheme, but I need money so I can buy more crap that I don’t need. And since it’s practically impossible to get a job, I may just start up a business!

No wait... ah! It is far too difficult! You need to be really good at design and it’s likely your design will be rejected. Spreadsheet, you suck too.

Party and Birthday is this weekend, and interview is next weekend. I've been looking forward to all three for so long and it will be all over in a flash.

M is for...

Mentor

I originally had this as music, but you all know what my music taste is, so I found something better.

So I have some GREAT news! If you didn’t hear via Facebook, I got a letter from University of Ulster yesterday! I was actually out at the time, but Mum phoned me asking permission to open it (basically) but I think she had already. Besides the point, I was invited for an interview for DESIGN FOR VISUAL COMMUNICATION!

Yes, the course. THEE course! Not even the foundation year, THE COURSE. The course I’ve been blogging about, and losing sleep thinking about. I feel like I’ve been proposed to. Don’t actually think it’s sunk in properly yet, but I woke up today with a smile on my face, excited to do some ART.

I have like triple the work to do now, because the interviewers will be looking for work that has a foundation year behind them, something I don’t have. After looking at the site, they do accept people from all levels. Wow, I’m so happy.

The first person I told was Patricia. Over the summer, I wrote a letter to Trish on this blog, just because she is so amazing. To fill you all in, Patricia is a friend of my Uncle Gordon who is an artist who now lives in Australia. She also went to Art College and got the highest grade in her year. Lately I’ve been in contact with her via FB, asking her advice about interviews and portfolio work.

She’s helped me out so much. Like, I didn’t realise the immense amount of work that needs to be done. (Example: 10-15 A6 books, 10-15 A4 books and an A1 portfolio with boarded work) She has so much faith in me, constantly repeating “You are going to art college!” I would have given up by now if it wasn’t for her. She even contacted her old art friends and tutors asking for even more information for me. It’s given me the kick I need to work really really hard.

So yeah, Patricia is like my mentor for the next few months. Just one that lives across the globe, able to basically do what she wants. (In some ways, she lives the life I dream to have!) She is my Cheryl, and I am her Cher. She is my Usher, and I am her Justin.

If I don’t get in with all this work, I’ll just accept it, and hope God has something better in store. I wonder will I get a Foundation Course letter too?

I’m going to lock myself in the house for the next few months, until February at least.

If I don’t blog tomorrow or the 25th, I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas from Claud's blog! :)
