LONDON

Bonjour,
I meant to write this last week but eh I got lazy and kept putting it off. Which I now realise was silly, because I won’t have as fresh a memory of London if I had written it sooner. Aw well.
I mentioned in my last post that Emma and I were going to London for the weekend! So yes, I have returned and much to share about our travels. I shall summarise each day now...

FUN FRIDAY
I had intended this trip to be stress-free, and if you know me at all, that wouldn’t be easy. Alas, this was not meant to be! Sean the Sat-nav refused to work to navigate us to the airport. Thankfully through trial and error, Emma remembered her bearings and we arrived in plenty of time.
After arriving at Southend round 10am, we took the train in to London and found our way to the hotel. After dumping our suitcases we tubed it to Baker Street, where we went to Sherlock Holmes’ house!
Following that we took a tour on an open top bus and saw all the sights, in comfort. A lot of the areas and buildings were under maintenance, presumably for the Olympics. Generally the city didn’t seem as busy as it usually would so we booked at the perfect time.
That evening, we met Amy and her friends, Matt, Hannah and Jeremy in Piccadilly Circus. We caught up and ate pizza, and then Emma and I went to see Phantom of the Opera. The show was pretty amazing, despite our odd seating. (We were basically looking directly down at the stage?) Definitely a great night out though.

SHOPPING AND SEOUL SATURDAY
First stop on Saturday was Covent Gardens - which is definitely the place to visit over the weekend. Market is open and the place was buzzing that morning. The stores are so cute and there were musicians and performers entertaining the busy shoppers.

I had the bright idea of making Saturday the ‘big Korea day’ so suggested we should eat in a Korean restaurant. After researching online, we discovered a little place off Soho called Seoul Bakery - a dingy little cafe which served Korean dishes. What brought this odd little place to our attention was the fact that both SHINee and Super Junior’s Siwon had ate there, and signed their names on the wall. Not only wanting to see that, we also both lived in hope we would accidentally bump into EXO too.
It certainly was a strange place to eat, and we felt both super awkward going in but were warmly welcomed by the friendly waitress. I ordered some kind of spicy soup and Emma ordered an egg dish - both were yummy. It was bizarre to be eating out and 2NE1 playing in the background, haha.
Before we left, we were given pens and sticky notes and left our memories on the wall, a common practice in Korean cafes. It was a lovely and enjoyable lunch! For the record, no, we didn’t meet EXO.
Next stop was Harrods and Hamleys - both crucial places that must be visited!! Harrods was outstanding, of course. Hamleys - not so much. Emma was convinced she saw Robert Pattinson walk past on Oxford Street, but after following him...yeah it wasn’t him. To my delight, after four years of waiting, I finally visited the Irregular Choice store, it was wonderful! We went to HMV and gasped at the amount of K-Pop CDs they sell now, and I bought Heartbreaker by G-Dragon and 2NE1’s Second album. (In celebration of the holiday.) After wandering about for a few hours, it was soon time to get ready for the concert!

MBC KOREAN CULTURAL FESTIVAL
We took the tube to the O2 Arena and got some weird looks from other K-Pop fans, who were maybe unsure if we were actually fans or not. Not meaning to be stereotypical or anything, but it’s very easy to recognise fandoms. K-Pop fans are an unusual crowd - often spotted with vividly coloured hair, multiple piercings, light-sticks, high-tops etc - and that’s just the girls. The rest of the audience consisted of mainly gay white boys, asian girls and asian girls’ boyfriends. I’m just observing and making assumptions here! Surprisingly Emma and I were some of the more average-looking people there. We dressed to impress! What if we bumped into EXO?? Surely we needed to TRY to look decent beside flawless Kai?
We stood in the line for what seemed like hours after a tasty burger in the arena, talking to a group of girls whom we met at the burger restaurant. Wye Zhi and Leanne, both DBSK fans, were the two Emma and I made friends with. It was so SO bizarre talking to other people about K-Pop though?!? Unfortunately we didn’t get to see any of the girls after the show and didn’t think of getting our photos with them at the time.
FINALLY we got into the indigo2 arena and THE SHOW HAD ALREADY STARTED! After a stressful period of trying to find our seats, we soon realised we only missed one 4minute song - who opened the concert. (I would be more pissed off about this because it was up to o2/concert organisers to open the doors earlier, but again if we cared THAT much we would have been in the queue earlier.)
The atmosphere was tense - the whole building was going CRAZY. Like I’ve seen in shows and live performances how much the audience screamed, but it’s so different when you’re in the crowd. You can’t help but join in. (I lost my voice the next day, whoops! I’m surprised I didn’t go deaf either.)
4MINUTE opened with four songs: Volume Up, Mirror Mirror, Huh and Hot Issue. The girls had stunning silver and black matching outfits on with a shiny jacket and fringed skirt.
In-between the K-pop artists performances, traditional acts kept the audience occupied. The first guy performed stunts and the second was a modernised traditional music group called Queen. They played a variation of beautiful and contemporary songs.
Following that, more traditional male dancers appeared, called the Samulnori team, who skillfully whipped back and forth tassels which were attached to their head? It sounds strange but I was enthralled! Afterwards, a combination of the cultural entertainers performed the classic song, Arirang, wearing traditional Korean dress robes.
Next act up was NORAZO - a comedic and eccentric duo who isn’t the most well-known act of the three, probably gained at least 2000 new fans that night in the U.K! Emma and I were flabbergasted at how awesome these guys performed live. It was a blast - and our hearts melted when we saw how incredible Lee Hyuk’s voice is! They performed Happy Song, Curry, King of Sales and Superman.
Dae2Baek Movement starred next - a dance group who psyched the audience up dancing to songs by Wonder Girls, BAP, T-ARA, U-KISS and of course, BIGBANG. The crowd went MAD when Fantastic Baby played! So awesome! Two of the male dancers teased the audience and the response was wild.
4minute members returned wearing Hanboks (traditional Korean dress) for a fashion show. Other models wore hanboks designed by Park Su Nyeol - who was present in the audience and made an appearance at the end. Although this was very enjoyable I was itching to see EXO, lol.
It was clear I wasn’t the only one, the audience couldn’t contain their excitement and at the end of the fashion show people were chanting “EXO EXO EXO!” Cue a blacked out arena and video titles. What’s funny here is I’m not even a big EXO fan, but I couldn’t help but join in with all the screaming! We were both giddy with excitement!
The boys strutted on stage and History immediately started playing. After much trouser-flapping, sweet moves and lets face it, obvious lip-syncing, they introduced themselves. Well, I THINK they did. Girls were screaming so hard it was hard to decipher what was being said. And I wasn’t quite able to tell them apart, but that’s okay - because my eyes were focused on Kai and his sparkly red vest.
After a stunning performance of Angel, incorporating some sweet-ass ballet moves from my man Kai, EXO finished with MAMA, their debut track. It was absolutely fab! But alas, it was over in a flash - I was expecting them to do another song, but Emma explained that they usually do two, so it’s a surprise they sung Angel. Didn’t mind though because the three they played were absolutely perfect! My ears were ringing and my throat was killing me but heck, it was worth every minute! *adds day to favourite days of life list*

SLEEPY SUNDAY
We took it easy on Sunday - we visited the National Gallery - which was okay for a while then I got bored and began hallucinating that all the paintings were the same (I think I was still on an EXO high so everything else other than Kai just wasn’t worth my time.) I saw Van Gogh and Claude Monet paintings though which was very exciting and caught my attention.
We headed across to the National Portrait Gallery after which focused on modern art and, well portraits. And I saw my first ever real Andy Warhol painting, so it certainly was the icing on top of the cake!
Then basically we had to head home - although it was just a weekend, it was a weekend of epic proportions, squeezing in so many fun happenings, making many fond memories for both of us.

I only have one thing to say...when’s BIGBANG touring?

INVINCIBLE

Hey,
I feel I must speak of my adventures this past week.
I’ve had an extraordinary week filled with fun and festivities - I feel much better since my last post here. I was really getting depressed for a while but I think this week has definitely made up for feeling so crappy.

First of all, I got my driver’s test! Hoorah! If you know me at all you’d be aware about how much I HATED learning to drive - it was a despair - I was on the verge of giving up. It’s not that I wasn’t any good, I just couldn’t master it. Then I booked my test in late January after much deliberation and persuasion from my parents. Within a month and a half I bloomed into a pretty good driver, which also boosted my confidence.

I took my test on Monday morning (5th March). I felt nauseous - it was terrible. I was so nervous I couldn’t remember the answers to the question that the examiner asked me, and at one point I panicked so much I couldn’t put my poor wee car into gear. Although this cost me two minors, I successfully got through the rest of the test without any problems. I was delighted and still quite shocked that I passed!
Hopefully I’ll get a run out tomorrow because I haven’t had the opportunity from being in Coleraine all week.

I also had my first deadline this week for my course. I had to create a Motion Graphics piece using Adobe After Effects on a topic of my choice. I chose myself.. sounds a bit egotistical but I was inspired by P.J Ligori’s video.
Here it is, posted below, you can have a look. There’s a couple of mistakes, yes, but it’s not the final version. There’s lots more to be done. I worked for 9 hours on this for only 30 seconds of footage - it’s ridiculous how time-consuming animating is.
I thoroughly enjoyed making my wee illustrations on Photoshop, and if you have any feedback it would be much appreciated!
Thirdly and finally, I must tell my tale of my evening with 5 lovely men - The Wanted!
The Wanted are a British boyband who’s hits you are likely to be familiar with: ‘Glad You Came’ and ‘All Time Low’.
They are near the end of their first Arena Tour and Belfast was on the list - Kathryn, Kerri and I ordered tickets. I am pleasantly surprised at how AMAZING of a show they can put on! Seriously, highly recommended. The atmosphere in the Odyssey was fantastic and we were all singing and dancing along!
The highlight of the night was spending 2 and a half hours outside the back gate patiently waiting for the tour bus to drive out - anxiously anticipating that we may see them again.
The persistence prevailed - at 12:30am they appeared! They walked up and down and kindly took photographs, signed autographs and offered hugs and kisses. Totally worth the wait. We were, as you can imagine, in hysterics.
First of all we met Jay - my favourite, such a cutie. We were so excited though we didn’t get photographs separately with him. :( However I’m peaking out of this photo with Kathryn.
We met Nathan next - which was a lot more successful - we got individual pictures with him and he gave us a hug. He was so adorable and down-to-earth. This is the best photo I think.
Lastly we met Max - Kathryn got carried away and our photographs didn’t turn out great - as you can see I’m not sure who looks more scary in my photo!
Alas, we didn’t get to meet the almighty beautiful Siva or Tom either - but hey, maybe next time? ;)
It was an amazing experience though and none of us expected to have such a brilliant night! I’m still buzzing with excitement and it was almost 24 hours ago!

But yeah, that’s me all caught up once again!
Lots of Love,
Claudia

CARTOONS (20 - 11)

A blog post I tried to keep secret but any time I made an attempt to work on I was always disturbed. In the end James found lots of pictures of cartoon characters saved on my desktop so unfortunately that gave it away. Anyway, now it is complete, so enjoy.
I apologise about the text below each picture, it probably makes very little sense. Wouldn’t say it’s my finest work.
20. AladdinMy number 20 spot goes to Aladdin I watched the film a couple weeks back thanks to my free lovefilm subscription this summer. Didn’t realise how cool he was. You know, if he was human, he’d look smokin’ hot.

19. KuzcoRandom fact about Kuzco, did you know he was 18? Kuzco is the main character of The Emperor’s New Groove. Kuzco is a selfish, spoiled, cocky and sarcastic teenager, and after a series of events is transformed into a llama. That sounds so random really, but it’s a great film, so go watch it.
18. Shin ChanAHAHA Shin Chan, this show was the most random thing to air on T.V. This followed the adventures of a 5-year old Japanese kid. Many jokes in the series were very weird and rather inappropriate to be honest. If you have seen it you may remember that he bared his bum to the camera in every episode.
I was just reading up about Shin Chan there now and it was quoting some of the things he said. He asks “How many people have you killed?” to tough looking men or “When are you going to die?” to elderly people.
There now I just spent 10 minutes watching one of the shows on Youtube - it’s extremelt disturbing, but very enjoyable.

17. ShegoI was a massive Kim Possible fan back in the day. I would still watch it if it was still on T.V. Shego was the villain of Kim who was very sarcastic and clever and she looked AMAZING!
16. BlooI feel like the only person in the world who actually loved Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends - and to be honest I was in High School at the time. I don’t think an foster’s home for imaginary friends would work in real life because there would be too many monsters there. My favourite characters were Frankie and Bloo. Bloo is selfish and mischievous, but has a kind heart.
15. TazWhat happened to Taz bars? More importantly, what happened to Taz? As I planned this list I found a had an affection for angry and arrogant characters - Taz is no exception. His short temper, little patience and random jargon made him rather annoying; I found it rather adorable.
14. KimiThis was a hard choice between Boo from Monsters Inc and Kimi from the Rugrats because they are both so so cute. Today I’m choosing Kimi because she’s such a sweetheart as well as being super adorable. Them wee purple boots - AWW.

13. Dee DeeWhen I was younger I always thought Jared and I were like Dexter and Dee Dee. Now, not so much. Despite her being extremely annoying, I thought she was very funny. Especially that episode when she tried to show Dexter this dance she taught herself - honestly the tune is still in my head.
12. DopeyDopey from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is my favourite dwarf because he’s so endearing. This picture is my favourite bit in the film - I really want to watch it again now.

11. Kai HiwatariIs is weird to have a crush on a cartoon character?
I only watched one season of Beyblade (Beyblade G Revolution) and I loved it! Jared and I had a pile of Beyblades. I believe I had Tyson’s Dragoon while Jared had Max’s Draciel. My favourite character was Kai, because I think I had/have a thing for bad guys. (And seriously, what 13 year old has muscle like that??)
✿ ✿ ✿ ✿

Second half to be continued... soon.
It will hopefully be posted underneath this post, so keep watch.

CARTOONS (10 - 1)

10. SquidwardGenerally grumpy, sarcastic and narcissistic, hating everything and only wants some peace. Yes..most of these favourite characters reflects my own personal qualities. Woo.
9. Double DEver wondered what was under the hat? Honestly I thought it was his hair. Or with a greasy sock on his head. Actually. I thought he was a girl. He’s a neat freak with a need for many sticky notes, and for some reason I love the way he speaks.
8. Sailor MoonI’m not going to lie, I wanted to be Sailor Moon when I was 8. And I also became obsessed with drawing Anime too. But that was the only time really.
7. Pingu
If your trying to find something that will put me in a good mood, Pingu will ALWAYS work. I think since I’ve hit 18 I’ve embraced my inner childhood and my summer has consisted of watching this show. I go hysterical when Pingu makes his beak like a megaphone “NUG, NUG!” Also think it’s brilliant that he’s the only character that can do it.

6. Donald DuckI always found his bad-tempered nature very very funny - most of his episodes started out with him in a happy mood, then something comes and spoils his day. In many ways, he reminds me of myself.

5. Max Goof  While every other child’s favourite Disney films were Pocahontas or Snow White, mine was The Goofy Movie. Not as famous as the others but I thought Max (Goofy’s son) was the most awesome guy ever! Remember when he dressed up as Powerline and sung to Roxanne on the school stage? SO COOL!

4. Dougal
Dougal the dog appears in the Magic Roundabout, as we all know, is the famously British children’s television which was originally broadcast in the sixties. Dougal was a skye terrier who had an odd love for sugar. This cute, hairy, legless pooch appealed to me as a child - and ever since I’ve always wanted to have a real dog called Dougal.
3. Toad
My adoration with Toad began at the young age of 8, when I made my purchase of Mario Kart: Super Circuit for the Gameboy Advance. (one of the best games ever.) Originally, I chose Toad because he was the fastest and the lightest. Not understanding that the lightness of the creature could be affected when larger characters hit him on the track, I thought being the fastest made them the winner. I’ve rarely played as any other character from that point on and I’ve always believed that Toad will help me win. Mushroom in a nappy and a waistcoat, I love you.

2. Edna Mode
Coolest lady (lady?) ever. She reminds me of myself in certain ways too: eccentric, strong-willed and obsessed with style.
“Go, confront the problem. Fight! Win!”

“I don’t look back darling, it distracts from the now.”

“Well, I’m sure I don’t know, darling. Luck favors the prepared.”

And drum roll please....

1. TJ DetweillerIf you haven’t guessed already, of COURSE T.J is my number one. He’s been my favourite cartoon character since I was 7 years old. I still remember the plot line and most of the script lines when the show is on. (Yes I do still watch it too.) I always hoped I would have a boyfriend that would look as cute and be as funny as T.J: LOL.

LOVEFILM

I was given a free two month trial for Lovefilm, a U.K online renting website. Here are the films I managed to rent in the past two months and a short review.

Aladdin ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮
What can I say? Absolutely wonderful! We all say about how we grew up with Disney films, but watching them again as an ‘adult’ helps relive the memories (and allow us to understand the story which we probably didn’t grasp the first time round.) Aladdin is a classic, a beautiful film, well-written and the characters are charming. I adore it.

Mean Girls ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮
Another classic. I’ve seen Mean Girls a dozen times but it still is very funny. It definitely does not have a deep picture or any life-changing, but it’s clever, witty and hilarious.

The Tourist ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮
I think the critics were just nasty about this because it isn’t as bad as it is. Yes, it did star Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp which ultimately means it could have been amazing. I admire them both, but, no, it didn’t live up to the action-packed thriller the audience was hoping for. However I thoroughly enjoyed it, and saw few flaws to the film. I love Depp and Jolie which perhaps makes me biased though.

Little Miss Sunshine
Is this meant to be a feel good film? I found it miserable and extremely over-rated. I actually cringed at some scenes and although I stuck it out to the end, I swore to myself it was something I could never watch again!

Love and Other Drugs
Extremely disappointed and appalled at this film. It’s very frustrating and was hard to follow. A different side of Anne Hathaway is revealed, and it’s not pleasant. Note to readers: Do not watch with your parents.

Letters to Juliet
Appalling acting from the leads in this. Amanda Seyfried was so dull I wanted to rip my eyes out. It’s not romantic or funny, just very VERY boring!

Amelie
I only wanted to see this because of the hype that it’s known for, and I must admit I only watched the first half hour. I felt uncomfortable and wasn’t sure where it was going. Perhaps it does get better but I had enough.

The Social Network ✮✮ ✮ ✮ ✮
Perfect in every way. Been dying to see this film for months and it was beyond my expectations. Very entertaining, thought-provoking and fascinating. Loved both Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield’s performance. I recommend it!!

Never Let Me Go ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮
More Andrew Garfield in this one, if your a fan like me. A beautiful but twisted and heart-breaking story. I was aching throughout. It’s a heavy downer and I recommend it highly but it’s so haunting. Watch it and weep.

Dear John ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮
I did not read Nicholas Spark’s novel but I understand that the film is not as good as the book. I enjoyed this film greatly but did not cry (much.) Amanda Seyfried’s acting was much better here and the relationship between her and Channing Tatum works well.

Spirited Away ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮
Lost for words for this one. Again, I rented this one out because of the hype. I was so impressed. It’s magnificent, enchanting and persistently fascinating. Definitely a film not to miss.

The Emperor’s New Groove ✮ ✮ ✮
Slightly let down by this one? It was not as good as I remembered it being when I first saw it in the cinema in the year 2000. It’s smart though, a great script, just didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought it would.

Oliver and Company ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮
Seen it before but wanted to watch again for old time’s sake. I am very fond of this film, perhaps more for nostalgia’s sake rather than it being a brilliant show. Love the songs in it and think it’s so sweet. One of my favourite animations ever.

The Hurt Locker ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮
Not my type of film at all, because it was originally rented for Dad and Mum to watch. But surprisingly, it’s incredibly powerful, exciting and I’m not gonna lie, the suspense was GOING TO KILL ME in some parts. Fantastic!!

The Princess Diaries ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮
Really took to the classics this month. It’s a sweet, delightful comedy which you can watch with little concentration. Very predictable, but it’s nice.

National Treasure ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮
As ludicrous as it all seems, it is entertaining, captivating and funny. I’ve seen this many times and it doesn't get old. Think Riley Poole makes it for me.

Driving Lessons ✮ ✮
Truthfully only watched this for the luscious Rupert Grint but that didn’t even do it. Didn’t enjoy this much, I didn’t even finish it. It was not what I was expecting I’m afraid.

It’s a Boy Girl Thing ✮ ✮ ✮
Seen this a dozen times but still continue to enjoy it’s cliché but hilarious acting from both the guy and the girl. The story line isn’t anything new but it’s worth a watch.

Super Size Me ✮ ✮ ✮
A fascinating documentary on an American man who only eats McDonalds for every meal for a month. Didn’t learn anything that I didn’t already know: McDonald’s makes you obese. Through the use of other video clips, art work, facts, figures and visual images makes Super Size Me very informative and interesting.

The Bucket List ✮✮
I was encouraged to watch this but I didn't enjoy it as much as I was expecting to. It was fine watching it once but wouldn't want to see again.

Hercules ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮
Wonderful film! Again it was nice to actually understand the story properly. Love Love LOVED it.

101 Dalmatians ✮ ✮
Rather disappointed with this one, as it was a childhood favourite and did not live up for my maturity. This is the live version starring Glen Close as Cruella - which may I add, looked very scary. The script is poor and it’s very tedious to watch.

I’m A Cyborg, but That’s OK
This looked much more appealing than what it was. I didn’t watch it all, but later I realised that Korean Pop Star Rain has a role. Now that’s just annoying. Think I’ll attempt to watch it again.
-----------------
I did watch it. It was very weird indeed. I found Rain unattractive. Yeah, that weird.
It was based in a mental hospital, where a girl was sent because she thought she was a cyborg. I don’t really know what to say about it, it was bizarre but was interesting and endearing too. I will give it ✮ ✮ ✮ stars today.

Coco Before Chanel ✮ ✮ ✮
I think this would be much more interesting if it focused more on Coco Chanel’s career than her life before it. Not very enlightening either, Audrey Tautou isn’t very convincing. It was only in the last few scenes did I actually enjoy it.

24 films in two months. Not bad.
Also note I watched films that were not part of my LoveFilm subscription too, so indeed, I watched many films this summer.
I wanted to watch more but I’m afraid to say I ran out of time.

SI SI SI SEÑOR!

Don’t read me - I am boring.

Yah!

Quick update, last Thursday I got my A-Level results! Y’know, the important exams that decide if I’m into university or not.

Well guess what! I’m going to University of Ulster in Coleraine! Hooray!

My results were CCC - which I thought very impressive since I consider myself as a bit stupid. I honestly thought I was going to fail English this year, although technically I did since I got DD in my two exams, but that’s beside the point because it’s a C overall.

I’m in no way disappointed with these results, because Upper Sixth, despite being my favourite year of school socially, was a nightmare studying for.

Seemed like everything I worked for went wrong, by the end of it I lost hope knowing it wasn’t going to go well anyway.

What puzzles me most is the fact that I received a D in my coursework part of my art, which I was convinced was the best piece of artwork to date. It made me rather angry, but still confuses me. It’s not the end of the world though, just is annoying because I slaved over it for months.

RealIy should praise God for the unexpected but pleasing grades I was awarded with. No complaining here, no sir!

Don’t think it’s sunk in yet. The whole university thing. Think I’m just gonna take it as it comes.

Like I said, boring post.

SHAKEspearIN' IT UP

The most interesting moments of Stratford-Upon-Avon 2011!

  • Conor arriving at Kilkeel High in a high-vis jacket.
  • Losing my boarding pass in Dublin Airport and dying inside. Everybody laughed.
  • Finding my boarding pass just as I was going through the gate- thank you to the person who handed it it in!
  • Realising when we got there that not only were our rooms booked wrong, we also had the worst room in the whole building.
  • The Christmas Shop- seriously....it’s March.

  • Visiting Shakespeare’s grave and me accidentally sitting on a kneeler thinking it was a cushion in the pue. (Clearly I am not a Church of Ireland goer)
  • Dressing up and Conor sitting in the playpen.
  • The two scary statues in the town.
  • Buying my bird collection!
  • Backstage tour of the RSC theatre- absolutely class.
  • James acting as paparazzi on the way to see King Lear.
  • King Lear- BOOO.
  • Accidentally putting Babestation on when James, Emma and I were watching T.V.
  • “Look it’s Hugh Grant”......“That’s Colin Firth.”- Love Actually

  • The cool statues in Anne Hathaway’s garden. Dat ass!
  • Seeing Hamlet. Wasn’t bad to be honest.
  • Two words: JONJO O’NEILL.
  • Dharmesh Patel (a.k.a Hamlet) taking an interest in my crocodile “knuckleduster” ring and asking could he wear it on stage during Romeo and Julliet! I died inside again.
  • The Garrick meal out after Hamlet- craic was amazing, laughed so hard. Questions were asked to the Taylor and the Cowan about the ‘rumours’... ho ho.
  • Mr Cowan going out for a ‘run’ every so often.
  • My ring broke that evening. :(
  • Fun game of Signs until 1am.

  • Warwick Castle, posing beside all the waxwork figures and eating false cake.
  • The Dungeon- a ‘scary’ attraction at Warwick. I got nervous because of the darkness and closed-in space- but the people in it were not scary at all!
  • Getting the ring fixed for Rashmeed/Ramseed.
  • The Dirty Duck/The Dead Duck- hot waiter and burning candles.
  • Romeo and Julliet at the RSC- absolutely INCREDIBLE. I bought a programme, it was actually that good.
  • Elizabeth's racism. “That’s why I ordered Sprite”
  • Meeting some of the cast members after at the pub! Mary-Jane and I got autographs, so exciting! Even Jonjoe’s and Dharmesh’s!
  • Chinese Lanterns being lit and nearly burning down a tree in the park
  • Playing outside of the Doctor’s House/Shakespeare’s retirement home.
  • Elizabeth hitting me with a frisbee.
  • The human pyramid. o_o
  • The boats on the river: John, Elizabeth, Kerri and I’s boat connecting with Sheepy, Hutch, Mr Cowan and Conor. They sang pirate tunes up and down the river, the result being many photos and applause from the people watching us. Was hilarious.
  • "Avoid or I will board yer vessel"- Hutch talking to other, much younger, girls on another boat.

  • Lunch in the delicious pub- chicken burger and chips for less than a fiver!!
  • Moo-Moo’s smoothie shop! Mixing every type of chocolate, fruit and sweet you could think of! Delicious!
  • The Antique Store
  • Interesting conversation on the way home on the plane. Check Kerri’s post for that one!

There are probably SO much more, but I felt I had to document what I had before they were forgotten! Honestly was the best school trip I was ever at. I feel so sad now it’s over, and it’s worse because it’s the last one ever. But thank you to all who made it as rememberable as what it was.

P.S: Be AWARE I was braped in the last post! I shall seek revenge...

SUPER ✭

Hello fashionable friends!

As you know (or don’t know) I was at Belfast Fashion Week last night! It was an incredible experience and has put me in a mood to buy more clothes! It’s also inspired me to buy pretty summer outfits.

Brace yourselves for a photo spam. I would like to insert the best photographs I had taken last night onto the next few posts.

Hope it gives you some ideas to look cool!

I’ll post the rest on Facebook, and some of Kerri, James and I too.

Enjoy. x

FEAR IS A GREAT MOTIVATOR.

So let’s step back a few months, back to the Mary-Jane created meme of ‘What form would your bogart take?’ Very inventive, I like it.

I have finally finished all the posts that I had wanted to write (However I have another one up my sleeve, but it can wait a while.)

Anywho, yes, for all those who live in a box or even in Kilkeel, a Bogart is a fictional Harry Potter (ha, fictional, Harry Potter is real.) thing. It features in the third Harry Potter book and film: Prisoner of Azkaban.

The bogart lives in a chest, wardrobe, some form of closed area, and nobody knows what it looks like. When it is unleashed, it transforms into the person’s greatest fears.

So today, I shall list and explain some of my biggest fears!

Terrorists

Nothing annoys me more or scares me than the threat of terrorists in the United Kingdom. Possibly this isn’t so much of a deal in country places where I live, but I am terrified in the future living in the city where I get caught up in the middle of a bomb scare. I just don’t understand it! If they are so keen to kill themselves, can’t they do it alone, why must they take others too? London, New York... So many lives wasted.

Planes

Can’t say I’m a massive fans of planes either. One of my worst fears is a plane crashing, because there’s nowhere to go. I think I’ve had this fear since I watched the first episode of LOST a couple of years ago. You know when they all arrive on the island and many are dead, and there’s one guy who loses an arm!? SO SO SO scary. You’d be lucky to find an island. It would be such a scary way to die.

The threat of War

I have a feeling the troubles are going to repeat themselves. Or even World War 3. Or both. Definitely one will happen in our lifetime, makes me sob that I want to bring children into this disturbing world in the future. See them North Koreans be all threatening, and other countries are like “Woah, calm down” but they are not. I want the world to be at peace. The world is so crapped up as it is, why oh why make it worse.

Cancer

Unfortunately cancer appears to trend in our family. Many of my Aunts and Uncles have had it, although none have died. I don’t know why, but I have a feeling I’ll be diagnosed with it too. It’s a horrible thought, but I’d prefer to have it than someone else, like my own children or grandchildren in the future. It’s a big fear of mine, but I want to be ready just incase it does happen.

I pray for a cure.

Death

Thankfully, I have not yet been brought down with the reality of a death in my family. If I was honest, I would have preferred for some of my family to have died when I was younger, when I did not understand or have to face with such a harsh actuality.

Of course it could also be looked at that I have been given the gift that I know such great family members, a chance that many others have not. But that makes it more difficult when they pass. I dread that day so much. It scares me often.

Spiders

Totally off compared to the rest, but boy, I hate spiders!

So then I pull out my 14” Holly, Veela Hair wand...

“Riddikulus!”

And BAM! All six of my fears turn into some sexy Korean guys.

Or pancakes that I could devour. Or both.

Happy Pancake Tuesday everyone! ♥
